“This object is a gilt-bronze lotus flower. It weighs 100 grams. It has been on displayed as part of the National Museum collection for quite sometimes. However, it is not clear where originated from, when it was made and to which period it might belong. This object features decorative patterns in three different parts.

Part 1 is in the outer circle which still has seven of the eight petals. Each petal has a line drawn in the center.

Part 2 has two circle lines. One over the other. The two circles are connected with each other by tiny vertical lines.

Part 3 is the core section of the flower. It has eight seeds. One seed is in the center and surrounded by seven others.

Experts of cultural history have not been able to establish the date and function of this object. Usually, a lotus flower has a close connection with Hinduism and Buddhism.
