This is a sandstone lintel. It originated from Sambo-Kratie, Sambo District, Kratie Province. In 1920, it was taken from that location for safekeeping and registered in the collection of the National Museum.
Khmer art experts have determined that it is in the Kampong Preah style, of the 8th century Pre-Angkorian period. The decorative elements on this lintel are rather different from the others.

It bears in cravings of a leaf scroll that it is bends like a bow with curved ends. In the middle section, there is a leaf that suggests the head of Kala. Beneath it, there are depictions of hanging flowers. Perhaps, this lintel was carved at the beginning of Kampong Preah style. However, it was never finished, as the right column capital remain unpolished.
